A few months after California legalized recreational use of marijuana, the Desert Hot Springs Inn in the Coachella Valley began advertising itself as cannabis friendly — a place where guests can smoke by the pool or heat up a vaporizer in the rooms.

California school districts could decide whether to allow their K-12 students who use cannabis for medical conditions to consume it on campus under a bill passed by the state Legislature on Monday and headed to Gov. Jerry Brown.

A bill passed the Senate in California which would retroactively wipe away cannabis convictions and give people back their lives.

Much of California’s cannabis industry was consumed Friday with reading and rereading the 315 pages of draft regulations issued by the three state agencies that oversee the state’s multibillion-dollar marijuana market.
